Bouclème Super Hold Styler (100ml)
The ultimate in firm hold, this stellar styler gel will ensure you keep your curls even on the busiest of days. With nourishing plant extracts, this skilful styler helps prevent split ends and keeps curls in check. Ideal for defining and holding loose waves/curls and kinky coily curls. Infused with Chia seed, Blue Agave, Algae Sugars, Kahai Oil and Linseed.
Conditioner: After cleansing, apply generously to soaking wet hair. Comb through hair with fingers. For fine loose curl patterns apply from the mid-section to avoid weight at the roots. Apply more conditioner to drier areas. Rinse out partly or fully depending on your curl pattern and texture. For drier thicker curl types we recommend leaving the conditioner in.
Curl Cream: Can be used on wet hair for styling and dry hair for an extra moisture boost. When applying to wet hair rake it through curls with fingers and ensure even distribution.
Defining Gel:
- Application differs depending on your curl texture and desired results.
- Apply to soaking wet hair.
- For extra volume: Pour gel into palms and graze gel over canopy, tip head forward and graze underneath. Apply more gel to ends and scrunch hair up towards head. Scrunch and hold each section for 10 seconds to encourage curl formation.
- For volume control: Use fingers to rake gel through hair in sections starting at the back of the head and working towards the front. Ensure even distribution. This method works well for medium/thick textures to elongate curls and prevent shrinkage.
- Style as usual. Avoid touching hair until completely dry to prevent frizz. Once hair is completely dry, tip head forward and scrunch out gel.
Styler: For waves start with 20p amount and smooth down the length of the hair and scrunch up towards the scalp hold, pulse and release working your way through the in sections.
For curly and kinky curls, with 10p amount rake through hair in sections from root to tip, using fingertips to smooth as you go. Once hair is completely dry, tip head forward and scrunch out gel to release the cast.

I like some of the products from this range and found this a great value set to try the brand. I particularly like the gel products. You just need to use a quite a small amount otherwise your hair can dry in ringlets and wet looking.

I really wanted to like this set, so I’ve tried all the products several times, during summer and winter. They just make my fine hair (2b-3b) sort of oily and sticky. The conditioner has no slip whatsoever. The products have a strange smell that I just can’t get used to. For me, these products were really bad. All of them.

So disappointed!
I've been trying the curly girl method for 12 months now with varying degrees of success. I still haven't find my wining routine so I decided to give the Bouclème range a go. I bought this travel set and I would absolutely recommend buying products this way, because you get to try them at a fraction of the cost and can try items from across the range. I have been leaving reviews against the full size bottles but have found that lookfantastic don't sell a full size styler (purple bottle) so I'm specifically reviewing that one here. I have very fine hair although there is quite alot of it. My hair takes a long time to get saturated in the shower. On a good day I would say my hair is a 3a but it can become weighed down losing some curl pattern and forms more of a wave on a bad day. I was so disappointed by the whole range, although for different reasons. The purple styler product is quite thick in the plam of your hand. It is a translucent colour and mixes well with water on your hands. When I compared it with the curl cream (thick and white) and gel (gloopy and transparent) I felt this was basically a blend of the two. I was excited to try ot because I'd hoped it would deliver moisture (cream base) and hold (gel). Initially I used about a 10p size amount (less then I would usually use) because I didn't want it to weigh down my hair. The product has a very strong smell, I didn't dislike it, but it was certainly more noticeable then with other products I have used and you notice it straight away. The first time I applied it after squishing in leave in conditioner using preying hands to hair that was already forming a curl. I found the product dried my hair when applied, not something I really like. My hair took longer then usual to air dry. I didn't find it had a strong cast but it did feel like there was product in my hair. Once my hair was 100% dry I flipped it upside down and scrunched it. This item left my hair dull and weighed down into waves. Although it didn't leave a greasy look my hair definitely didn't feel clean. I've tried using more and less product, I've tried scrunching it in, I've tried with and without the curl cream and with and without the gel but I still haven't been happy. The best results I have had was when I used a defuser. I used leave in and this product and defused. It gave a solid cast which came out easily with a scrunch. The cast surprised me because I dont get that when I air dry, so maybe this product prefers being heated. It initially looked good but I found the curls became weighed down throughout the day. I don't usually use a defuser, and I am nowhere near the bottom of the bottle. I don't think I will finish it. Unfortunately this (very expensive and, unfortunately now, in my opinion over hyped) product range has not been the wonder products I was hoping for.
