For pointed pencil shapes, gently push the tip former knob inward and downward to release the tip former.
For rounded pencil shapes, click tip former back in place.

I had lost my 3ina sharpener and being stubborn didn’t want to fork out for another one, but after several weeks and not being able to place it I ordered this one as I have always been pleased with MAC products previously.
