Not so great value but the foundations are fab!

I'm a big fan of bare minerals, I'd purchased a similar set about 5 years ago and was intrigued to find out if this set had improved, but unfortunately I was left feeling a little disappointed. At first glance the set seems really good value, 5 products and three brushes, however, the products are small sizes, the foundations being a 1/4 the size of the full size products. I was interested to try Warmth (the bronzer) and the mineral veil, but after using them, I find the warmth powder to be not something I'd use and it's quite dark and the mineral veil, is extremely fine, very pink and goes everywhere. There is also a sample size of Prime Time primer which I actually find really greasy and doesn't help with improving the lasting time of the foundation. The brushes, whilst a vast improvement on the ones I bought 5 years ago are still not great. Personally, I think if you really want Bareminerals foundation to work well for you, I would ditch these and invest in a decent Kabuki brush - you won't look back! The foundations themselves, are great, and you get two samples in this set, Light and Fairly Light, they are pretty yellow toned so not really ideal if you have cool skin. They buff on very easily, are build able and long lasting, they don't break me out, plus when they do start to wear of they do so more naturally. The only thing I find with the foundations is that you do really need quite good skin to start off with, this foundation is not going to be great for you otherwise as it doesn't give full coverage. I use this as a day foundation but wouldn't use it for a night out, for example, as I wouldn't get a 'full' coverage without caking it on and looking very powdery. Overall, whilst I love Bareminerals products, I think this set is actually pretty rubbish value, the products are small and the brushes are just ok. I would consider what you would actually use from this set and probably just buy the full size foundation and a good Kabuki brush.

This kit was just what I needed. The makeup makes my skin look so fresh and healthy. I also really love the brushes, and appreciate that there were two colours of the foundation powder so I could find out which one fits me the most.

Incredible

Started using these last year when i was in the airport and saw them on offer, I had heard a lot of positive reviews and now 1 year on, I wouldn't go back to any other foundation system. My skin is clearer, the colours complement me very very easily (I am very fair and it can be struggle to find a decent match) but I have since recommended it to various friends and relatives who have all found their own perfect match for their various skin tones. All in all, this was an incredible purchase and I am happy to recommend it to anyone, it is fast, easy to apply and incredibly simple to get an amazing finish, i use it both everyday and for evenings out and it stays in place wonderfully.
