A purifying hair cleanser, OUAI’s Detox Shampoo is gentle on the scalp but tough on debris, oil and product build-up, from hard water deposits and styling products like dry shampoos and sculpting waxes.
Refreshing the scalp, roots and lengths without stripping, drying or fading out your colour, the shampoo utilises the acidity of an apple cider vinegar to improve lustre and soothe itchy scalps. Hydrolysed keratin helps strengthen vulnerable bonds in the hair fibre, and encourages full, glossy hair. Allow the shampoo’s hypnotic rose scent to carry your senses away as you free congested hair.
Ideal for oiliness, shine and flaky or dry scalp.
- Thoroughly wet hair from roots to ends, then squeeze out excess water.
- Lather a quarter-size amount in hands, then part hair using fingers and apply as close to the scalp as possible.
- Let sit for 1 to 3 minutes, then rinse!

I seriously cannot recommend this enough. My hair builds up products like hairspray, gels and even certain shampoos that are too heavy for my hair. My hair nearly felt greasy all the time even after washing it because of so much build up. I tried this and it’s amazing! My hair is so shiny after wards and feels so soft and clean. I use it once a week at most, I wouldn’t use it more than that as it is a detox shampoo. But definitely try this, you won’t be disappointed.

The reviews made me excited to try this product, I wouldn’t recommend. I’ve tried using it so many different ways (hair soaking wet, towel dried, half and half) I cannot get it to lather up at all. My hair feels cleaner after using it, but I wouldn’t say it feels like a clarifying shampoo.. to get even a slight lather you have to use *a lot* of product. Not worth it for the price point.

Most effective clarifying shampoo
If you need something a bit gentler than a scalp scrub, this clarifying shampoo is the perfect option. It gets rid of my dry shampoo build-up without being too harsh. Regardless of your hair type, I would recommend only using it once a week and always following up with a hydrating hair masque as otherwise it can be drying. Beautifully scented with Ouai's signature fragrance, the scent lasts for ages on the hair which is a nice bonus.
