- Apply to cleansed, exfoliated skin using a tan mitt in circular movements.
- Do not moisturise or use shower gel prior to application.

Would be 5* if it didn't smell!
Historically I've had an allergic reaction to all self-tanning products, tried most over the years, including top brands such as Clinique, Clarins etc.. all brought me out in a spotty, and REALLY itchy rash, so I'd given up until I was recommended Vita Liberata by a friend – took a chance (just did one lower leg as a test the 1st time) - and I couldn't be more delighted - no itching! I’m so impressed with this product; of course you have to practise putting it on to avoid darker patching around the elbows, knees, ankles and feet (dry skin areas), but that’s the same for all self-tan products; a light smear of moisturiser on those areas before application helps. Also I note the further into application, and the more saturated the mitt gets, so the 1st limb (with dry mitt) usually needs a 2nd, light going over, or alternate which leg you do 1st if you’re doing a couple of applications, or, just start with areas that need less colour like belly, shoulders etc.. by the time you’re at legs and arms the mitt is saturated and gives better coverage. It gives a good, natural looking colour, even after just one application. The smell: well – this is why it doesn’t get 5*! Their claims about not having the usual self-tan smell are not true! It doesn’t smell to begin with, but it builds, milder maybe than some products but still that classic self-tan smell 😔 - I apply mine mid-afternoon, early evening, the smell ‘peaks’ during the night, but then after a morning shower it’s gone, no problem if you’re applying pre-holiday. Just ordered the Phenomenal 2-3-week Tan Mousse to test pre-holiday so hopefully it’s as good.. Feels great to be able to have a natural looking colour without the itching!

Non-scented!
I used this yesterday for the first time after purchasing it before Christmas. I'm actually shocked to see that other people have mentioned that it smells of that typical fake tan smell - it honestly doesn't! I can't smell anything, it doesn't have a scent at all and is completely neutral through the whole application, drying, development, and post-development process. I have olive undertones anyway but this made my existing tan brighter and more glowy for when I go on holiday! Will definitely look to repurchase especially when there are Vita Liberata deals on. ☆☆☆☆☆

Smells just like any other fake tan when developing
I bought this as I really hate the smell of fake tan when it's developing and was excited to apparently find one that didn't have that smell. When you apply it there is zero smell - so far so good! Within an hour of applying however the standard fake tan smell starts to develop. When I sat down on the sofa next to my partner - who didn't know I'd applied fake tan - he immediately said "Oh you've put fake tan on, I can smell it". The end result is a perfectly good light but natural looking tan. As a fake tanning product this is perfectly good but a little expensive for what it is. Don't buy it for the "Zero Odour" technology however as that is a totally false claim.

Gives a really nice glow, but the smell still makes me annoying. I guess they can't do these type of products without the disturbing smell. But it's less annoying than other brands

Vita Liberata Fabulousness
I expected nothing less from Vita Liberata. I’m a regular user of their tanning products but wanted something for the in between days / weeks as I am a new mum and don’t have the same time to properly exfoliate etc before full tanning application. This gradual self tanning lotion is absolutely amazing!! It is quick, easy and gives you brilliant results. After one application it will last for 3 to 4 days with a beautiful sun kissed glow that fades evenly and without patches. Brilliant product that delivers excellent results.

Not gradual at all
I’m pale and bought this in the hope of having a light sun kissed glow I could build up gradually, instead it turned me orange on the first application and I had to scrub myself raw before I could go out in public again. Will not buy again

Lightweight and effective
I'm not usually a fan of fake tans as I don't like feeling caked or the smell that usually comes with it but this gradual tan is a perfect compromise. It was easy to apply by hand and didn't leave my palms orange, lightweight so I didn't feel caked and doesn't smell. The lotion has given me a nice subtle tan that is slowly building up the more I apply it. I also love the fact that I feel moisturised as well as tanned.

Nice colour but smelly
I like this brand and have tried other things so thought I’d give this a go but was very disappointed. I’ve used it a few times and the smell is very strong which I find off putting. I can’t put it on on a morning. The colour is nice and subtle though and not orange.
