Azelaic Acid Skincare

Gentle Active Care for Clearer Skin

Looking for a skin-savvy way to tackle acne, uneven tone, or redness without harsh exfoliants? Our azelaic acid collection delivers a gentle, effective solution. As a naturally derived dicarboxylic acid, azelaic acid is praised by dermatologists for its effectiveness and versatility.

Azelaic acid works on multiple levels, helping to clear and prevent acne by targeting acne-causing bacteria and normalising skin cell turnover. It also helps reduce inflammation, calm visible redness, and support skin dealing with conditions like rosacea. For those concerned with hyperpigmentation, dark spots, or uneven skin tone, azelaic acid can inhibit overactive pigment production over time, helping to even out complexion and fade discolouration.

Whether your skin is prone to breakouts, sensitive, or just looking dull and uneven, azelaic acid fits smoothly into many skincare routines. It’s often found in serums, gels, moisturisers, and spot treatments - giving flexibility depending on how you like to treat your skin. For best results, apply after cleansing and before moisturiser. Consistency matters: many users see visible improvements in clarity, tone, and texture after several weeks of regular use.

Azelaic acid plays well with many other skincare ingredients. Ingredients such as niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, or gentle moisturisers complement it well and help support the skin barrier while it works. That makes it a great option even if your skin is reactive or sensitive. Some users also find that easing into it - for example, starting every other night helps reduce any initial dryness or irritation.

In short, azelaic acid is a powerful yet approachable ingredient that can help smooth skin, clear acne, calm redness, and even out tone, all while being gentle enough for regular use. Explore our range to find the formula that suits your skin’s needs and helps reveal a clearer, brighter complexion.

How often should I use azelaic acid?

Many users start with 2-3 times per week to let skin adjust, especially if it's sensitive. Once tolerated, some move to nightly use. Adjust frequency based on how your skin feels - too much too soon can lead to dryness or irritation.

Can I use azelaic acid with other actives (like retinol or vitamin C)?

Yes - but carefully. Azelaic acid pairs well with gentle routines. For stronger actives like retinol or potent exfoliants, alternate nights rather than layering them in one go. This reduces the risk of irritation while still gaining combined benefits.

Will azelaic acid help with acne, redness, and pigmentation all at once?

It can. Azelaic acid is often praised for its versatility. It helps to regulate clogged pores, calm redness, and, over time, may fade dark spots or even the skin's tone. Consistent, gentle use over several weeks is key.

Is azelaic acid suitable for sensitive skin?

Generally, yes - it’s considered gentler than many strong exfoliants. Because it’s often less irritating than AHA or high-strength retinol, it’s a popular choice for sensitive or reactive skin. Still, patch test first and introduce gradually.

What should I use alongside azelaic acid for the best results?

Support azelaic acid with a hydrating moisturiser and daily SPF. Moisturiser helps maintain the skin barrier and reduce dryness or flakiness. SPF is essential because even though azelaic acid isn’t a photosensitizer like retinol, protecting new skin layers from UV helps clarify tone and prevent pigmentation.
