You don't need us to tell you that cleansing your skin regularly with the right face cleanser is a key part of achieving a beautiful and healthy complexion. Cleansing should always be your first and most important step in your skincare routine. Doing it twice a day is the best way to make sure that your skin is clean and protected against dirt and impurities that can affect the appearance of your skin.

There are many reasons cleansing is so important, including the prevention of acne and blemishes due to the removal of any dirt, pollutants and traces of makeup. It also removes any dead skin cells that are resting on the skin's surface, leaving your skin looking and feeling refreshed. Cleansing your skin also works to maintain your skin's all-important pH levels. You can't ignore facial cleansers when it comes to looking after your skin - they are a must-have skincare product.

If you wear makeup, it's important to double cleanse in the evening. Double cleansing will make sure all traces of dirt, makeup and pollution are removed from your skin. Finding the best facial cleanser for your skin type is an important consideration. For example, if your skin is dry, you'll want to look for a hydrating cleanser that won't strip your skin of its natural oils. On the other hand, if you have oily skin, look for a cleanser that contains ingredients like glycolic acid or salicylic acid to help control oil production.

There's an endless variety of face cleansers to choose from, both from bestselling brands and also in terms of formula. Choose between leading brands including CeraVe, ELEMIS, ESPA, and La Roche-Posay, as balms, creams, gels and oils to suit your skincare preferences.

How do I choose the right facial cleanser?

The best cleanser depends on your skin type and concerns. Gel and foaming cleansers are often favoured by oily or combination skin types, while cream cleansers and cleansing balms can provide extra comfort for dry skin.

Should I cleanse my face twice a day?

Many skincare experts recommend cleansing both morning and evening to remove excess oil, makeup, SPF and daily impurities that can build up on the skin.

What is double cleansing?

Double cleansing involves using an oil-based cleanser or cleansing balm first to remove makeup and SPF, followed by a water-based cleanser to help remove any remaining impurities and leave skin feeling thoroughly refreshed.
