The Ordinary’s Retinol Serum 1% in Squalane is a water-free, multi-purpose solution formulated to reduce the appearance of pores, dark spots and fine lines, and improve the overall appearance of skin’s texture.
Enriched with a 1% concentration of the anti-ageing powerhouse retinol, which is a derivative of vitamin A, the lightweight serum delivers visible plumping and firming effects to your skin. Another key antioxidant ingredient, squalane, protects against UV damage and helps to minimise the risk of sun-induced age spots, leaving you with a more even-looking skin tone.

- When to Use: After water-based serums but before heavier treatments.
- Application: Apply a small amount to the face as part of your evening skincare regimen. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Avoid unprotected solar exposure. Store in a cool, dry place.
- Please note: Retinoids can make the skin more sensitive to UV radiation. Sun protection is particularly important when using retinoids. This product must not be used in conjunction with other retinoids including retinol or retinoic acid. This product is not a treatment for acne. Acne-prone skin may experience a temporary increase in acne during the first few weeks of using any form of retinoid including those used in this formulation.

Such a good 1% retinol treatment.. it's oil based so a little goes a long way and the bottle will last ages! Amazing used at night, skin is glowing in the morning. I've been using retinol from another brand for a while now and initially it can cause dryness and flaky patches, the oil seems to stop this problem and my skin seems so much more refined and smoother especially around fine lines. Really can't love this any more than I do, and at such a great price it's so worth trying, especially if trying retinol for the first time.

Buuut... This isn't fungal acne safe. Not an issue for most people (it didn't use to be an issue for me) but I just thought I'd mention it. The fa is currently under control but I feel like I can't risk it...* previously: this helped with fine lines and closed comedones, small bumps etc. I did however have to initially deal with peeling (despite having used other retinol products previously) so that's something to be aware of. *on my face. still use it on my stretch marks btw. Absolutely brilliant! Better than any ''anti-stretchmark'' product.

I really love this stuff and I’m on my second bottle. You get noticeable results with this practically overnight. It’s super hydrating thanks to the squalane. If you are not used to retinol you might get a bit of redness and sensitivity at first but you soon build the tolerance. It brings totally new levels of hydration and really seems to fight those lines. So cheap it’s ridiculous . What’s not to love!!
