This highlighter is a liquid and does need to be shaken up before use to combine the pigments. I just pump a bit onto the back of my hand (and a little goes a long way with this!) and then apply with my fingers to the high points of my cheekbones. Such a beautiful highlighter that reflects light rather than other highlighters that just look like a strobe of chunky glitter. Lovely natural highlight that is slightly tinted and am very pleased! It dries matte yet looks dewy so it won’t transfer! In love! 

It is expensive compared to drugstore but this is a lovely highlighter. 1 pump is quite a lot, I only need half a pump for both sides of my face. I dot them on the high points and use a brush to blend it out and it blends beautifully. Did not mess up my foundation underneath. Give you a long lasting beautiful sheen. There are a few glitters but not too bad. It just gives you a beautiful plump, wet look. Highly recommended.
