Shu Uemura Art Of Hair Liquid Fabric (250ml)

The first several times I used this product I was greatly disappointed, though I still suspected I that might not be using it correctly. Indeed, using this product successfully requires some experience, perhaps especially for hair like mine. I have relatively full, wavy-to-curly, somewhat frizzy hair, cut in a short bob. My aim in buying this product was to create beautiful, non-frizzy curls. What I realized after several trials was that, in order to control the frizz, I must first condition my wet hair rather generously with both the Shu Uemura Essence Absolute oil and oil-in-cream. immediately after conditioning I crunch my hair, and wait for it to become no more than 50% dry. I then spray it with Liquid Fabric about 7-8 times, and spread it evenly through the entire length of my hair. Finally, I use a diffuser until it is no more than 90% dry. The result is very stylish: an alluring head full of voluminous, floaty, well-defined curls, with no frizz!

I have a shortish, bob-like cut, and wavy to curly hair depending on how I dry it, the weather, etc. (I am not very experienced with styling products and methods). I was hoping this product would give my curls definition, and create the shiny, full-bodied curls I sometimes get naturally. I've been experimenting with it daily for over a week now (on towel-dried hair, after applying a little Shu Uemura Essence Absolute Oil in Cream), using different drying methods, but I'm just not getting what I want. First, it certainly does not eliminate frieze, even if I let my hair dry naturally. When using a diffuser, it seems to mainly create volume--very thin and messy curls that a thin-haired person might appreciate. The reason I gave it two stars instead of one is that I have a feeling that a more talented/experienced user might be able to get better results. It is also possible that the product is not suitable to my hair type.

I have mid-length hair that I spray around five or six sprays of this Shu Uemura Art Of Hair Liquid Fabric into when it is still damp. When it is almost dry, I blow dry quickly scrunching my hair and it brings out the texture in my hair. The bottle is a nice size and good value for the money.
