I’m transitioning to natural grey and have 5-6 inches of pure white hair at the roots and the rest is highlighted fairly light blonde.  My white hair can go yellow and i’ve tried many ‘silver’ shampoos to brighten the white and tone the blonde to an ashier shade to blend it in more.  I found most of these to be effective at brightening and toning, but left my hair feeling dry and horrible and often caused a flare up of eczema on my hands.   I decided to search for something without SLS and other nasties and found Aveda Blue Malva.  The shampoo and conditioner together definitely leave hair in much better condition than others I have tried but the trade of is that the brightening effect is not as good.  I found it works best if I leave the conditioner on for 20 minutes before rinsing, and this does a good job on my white roots, but there is minimal change in tone on the blonde ends -only slightly ashier which is ok for me (and I’m happy with the condition my hair is left in). So I would recommend this if you have silver or white hair particularly if you want something that doesn’t dry out your hair but if you are a very brassy blonde I don’t think this would be the set for you.

The shampoo leaves my hair shiny and removes all yellow. The conditioner leaves my hair soft and manageable. Had to buy more as both as my daughters love them too!!

I was disappointed with this as it made my hair very greasy from the first use. I used it a few times to properly try it out but nothing changes. I normally only wash my hair 3 times a week but with this needed to do it every other day. Didn’t think it took out the brassiness either. Won’t get again

This has got to be the best shampoo and conditioner I've used. My yellow hair has brightened up so much and the condition has strengthened. Love the the fact that no purple stains anywhere in my bathroom either as I've had that problem with purple shampoos before. I'm now on my 2nd bottle of both. Have recommended to my daughter to

Bought this after reading the fab reviews, and was on offer during black friday. Delighted with these, I'm a hairdresser and I usually use kerastase, but fancied a change. I have very long fragile highlighted hair that I love to tone to an icy pearl blonde, and so far this combo feels very luxurious, I haven't seen a huge change to my hair colour tonally but I haven't had time yet to leave it on my hair for a while to get better results, however my hair feels so good after it. The shampoo bottle is quite large to not have a pump but the snap top nozzle makes it easy to dispense so I disagree with other reviewers on this, it's fine. If I need a more intense condition I add a little kerastase masquintense to the malva conditioner. Lovely products
