I'd noticed my nails being a bit drier and more brittle than usual - probably just getting older - but while I did find this hydrating, I felt like my nails were actually weaker, just in a different way. Hard to explain, but instead of being dry and brittle and therefore chipping, they were bending a lot and splitting or tearing instead.
